Salt Water Taffy was introduced on the AC Boardwalk in the 1880's as the first "Atlantic City Souvenir." The 1-lb box remains the most popular souvenir almost 125 years later. The recipe resulted in a smooth, rich taffy available in many flavors and a cut-to-fit-the-mouth shape.
